Every Christmas, I focus on the scriptural aspect of Jesus' life. This year I created the Christmas crib on the theme: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…" (John 1:14)
Almost every element in the crib is hand crafted and sculpted with paper and paper clay. For this crib, I sculpted child Jesus with paper clay.
I thank God for helping me to create this spiritually meaningful and wonderful Christmas crib.
Wish you Merry Christmas and a Blessed New year 2023.
May the faithful love of Jesus Christ live in our heart and our life — forever.
Christmas theme:
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…" (John 1:14)
Jesus, the 'living word of God', 'the love of God', became flesh and blood to dwell among us — For this is how God loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in HIM may not perish but may have eternal life.
The purpose of Jesus' coming into this world is to bring God's salvation to the world — the Joy of Jesus' birth and the cross of salvation are inseparable.
Description:
Earth enveloped with clouds: symbolizes the world.
Bible: The word of God — the white pages symbolizes the purity, the truth, the sacredness of the Holy scripture. The green cover symbolizes the liveliness of the Holy scripture — the word of God is something alive and active.
The green sprout with child Jesus resting on top: symbolizes the living 'word of God' became flesh to dwell in this world. The proportion of child Jesus is shown big as compared to that of Joseph and Mary — symbolizing Joseph and Mary has humbly accepted like John the Baptist that — "HE (Jesus) must grow greater, I must grow less."
The cross of salvation: The green cross is symbolic of HIS innocence. [ "For if this is what is done
to green wood, what will be done when the wood is dry?"] (Luke 23:31)].
The joy which Jesus brings into this world through HIS coming and the salvation HE brings to this world through HIS suffering and dying on the cross is inseparable. Where there is Christ — there is Joy and the cross of salvation.
The vine: The vine entwining the cross is symbolic of victory. The cross of salvation of Jesus Christ is life giving and is victorious over death and sin.
The star: The star is shown in white symbolic of purity; Holiness; Prince of Peace.
